Join us for the grand daddy of all triathlon camps - a one-week training camp in Kona, Hawaii during the week leading up to the Hawaii Ironman. Professional endurance coach Marc Becker, a two-time top fifty finisher in Kona, will guide you through the basics of what it takes to compete on the Big Island. At the end of the week we'll spend a day watching the Hawaii Ironman live, up close and personal!

This trip is for those who have an interest in taking part in Kona one day, or who are simply drawn to find out more about the Hawaii Ironman and want a professional tour of the build-up to the event while experiencing first-hand what it's like to train on the most famous stretch of asphalt in multisport .

What's included

Six days of coached triathlon training and a daily lecture by Marc Becker, ironguides professional endurance coach. During the week we'll train on the Ironman course and we'll examine topics specific to the extreme conditions encountered on the Big Island:

  • Nutrition in the heat
  • Acclimatizing to Kona's race conditions
  • Swim, bike and run training for the Kona course
  • Racing in the heat
  • Pacing for the Ironman distance
  • Building an appropriate Ironman training plan
  • How to taper for and recover from the Ironman distance

The week includes two sessions of coached training in each sport, and a suggested training plan to maximize your camp experience throughout the weekend. We'll review the Hawaii Ironman swim, bike and run courses and address each athlete's specific needs.

Cost

995 Euros covers coaching, guiding and lecture materials. A 50% refund is available for any cancellations up to 30 days prior to your Camp. This camp is limited to 12 participants. Minimum 4 participants required. All travel, accommodations and food and beverage expenses are extra. Once you book your Camp, we'll send you an email with further details and a list of what to bring.

Location

We'll base ourselves in Kona, at the heart of Ironman week! Once you have registered for the Camp, we'll send you our accommodations plan so that you can choose an option close to where we convene Camp each day.

Travel

You'll need to book a flight to arrive in Kona Saturday night (or sooner if you prefer). Camp begins Sunday at 07:00 and ends Sunday after the race at noon.
